23.07.2025

On July 21, 2025, one of the most important international events — “RE.Act Forum 2025: A Water-Energy Nexus Partnership for Higher Education in Central Asia” — was successfully held at the TIIAME National Research University.
The forum was organized with the aim of strengthening cooperation focused on sustainable development through the integration of water and renewable energy resources in Central Asia, enhancing the role of higher education, and promoting innovative solutions.
The seminar was attended by representatives from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Germany), Naryn State University (Kyrgyz Republic), as well as researchers and students from the TIIAME National Research University (Uzbekistan), representatives of the Ministry of Energy (Uzbekistan), the industrial sector and partner organizations.
During the international seminar, key tasks of the “ReAct” international cooperation project were addressed, including the exchange of experience among representatives of higher education institutions from Europe and Central Asia, the joint development and harmonization of curricula and programs, strengthening collaboration in scientific research at the local and regional levels, and the development of educational programs in energy systems and renewable energy sources.
Main goals of the forum:
- Contributing to a sustainable future through the integration of water and energy systems;
- Expanding cooperation between higher education institutions in Central Asian countries;
- Creating new educational and practical opportunities for students and young researchers;
- Strengthening scientific and technical cooperation with the private sector;
- Developing recommendations on energy policies adapted to climate change.
RE.Act Forum 2025 became an important scientific platform that brought together scientific potential in the fields of water and renewable energy in the region, and served as a ground for practical knowledge exchange, dialogue, and cooperation.
Numerous future collaboration initiatives were discussed during the event, along with proposals to modernize academic programs. The TIIAME National Research University is becoming a leading scientific platform not only on a national scale but also at regional and international levels on issues of sustainable development through such scientific-practical forums.
Additionally, within the framework of the forum, the international “Summer School 2025” — organized in cooperation with foreign partners — commenced its activities at the TIIAME National Research University. This summer school aims to provide participants with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in areas such as water and energy integration, renewable energy sources, sustainable development strategies, and international scientific cooperation.
