Humankind has always been naturally drawn to words and music, for both possess a miraculous power that affects the human spirit and mood. They inspire thought, lift the soul, instill pride, foster hope, and instill confidence. The same can be said about the State Anthem of Uzbekistan, which has been crafted with perfect harmony between words and melody.

The anthem of our country was adopted on December 10, 1992, at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its lyrics, written by the national poet Abdulla Oripov, and its music, composed by Mutal Burkhonov, embody the grandeur and dignity of our people, the richness of our heritage, and the beauty of our nature. It expresses the strength of our homeland, the resilience of our people, their generosity, compassion, faith, and loyalty.

From the very first notes, one instinctively places a hand over the heart and sings with pride. The anthem evokes pride in our sunlit, free country, in a nation whose happiness and salvation rest with the Motherland. It also conveys the understanding that the fame and strength of a kind, peaceful, and cooperative people are closely tied to knowledge, science, and creativity.

The anthem reminds us that the brave spirit of our ancestors, thinkers, scholars, and pioneers in science, culture, and art continues to guide and strengthen us, serving as a source of energy and glory. The greatness of the Uzbek people, their care for the younger generation, their faith, and the Motherland’s peace and prosperity are inseparable.

It is impossible not to feel the anthem’s relevance to our determined, disciplined, and steadfast people, as well as to our leader, who tirelessly works for the nation’s progress through wise policies and forward-looking reforms.

The fact that our country is now recognized globally, and that our people have courageously embarked on the Third Renaissance of Uzbekistan, reflects the growing awareness and responsibility of citizens for the fate of their nation and homeland.

The fulfillment of the hopes, dreams, and aspirations expressed in the anthem is a guarantee of our nation’s bright future.
