On September 27, 2025, the first-year active students of  “Ecology and Law” Faculty at “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research University, led by their tutor Kh. Saidova, organized an educational trip.

At Independence Square, the students paid tribute to the memory of our forefathers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the homeland. They held heartfelt discussions about the courage, loyalty, and devotion of our compatriots, emphasizing the importance of honoring their spirits and valuing the peace and tranquility we enjoy today.

The memorial complex located in Independence Square, which includes the Books of Remembrance inscribed with the names of the fallen, the Eternal Flame, and its central figure, the “Grieving Mother” monument  serves as a collective space of national gratitude and remembrance.

Created in 1999 by the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, Ilhom Jabborov, the bronze sculpture depicts a woman in mourning, her head bowed beneath a mourning shawl. She symbolizes all mothers whose sons never returned from war, embodying the collective sorrow of the nation. The Eternal Flame before her reflects the fire in her heart, reminding everyone of the priceless value of peace.

The visit strengthened the students’ love for their homeland, respect for historical heritage, and sense of spiritual growth.
