Scientific and Practical studies conducted in Surkhandarya region within the framework of the “Roadmap” approved under the implementation of Resolution No. 122 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

In accordance with the “Roadmap” approved within the framework of the implementation of Resolution No. 122 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, scientific and practical studies were carried out to introduce water-saving irrigation technologies in agriculture.
In Termez district of Surkhandarya region, Professor R. Ergashev of the "TIIAME" National Research University, who also serves as the scientific advisor to the Governor of Surkhandarya region on agriculture and water management issues, together with field specialists, conducted the study.
In 2026, it is planned to concrete 11.3 km of the “T-L” canal in the region. Project documentation for this canal is currently being prepared, and 6 billion soums have been allocated from the state budget. Additionally, the concreting of 30 km of internal canals under the district water supply service has been planned, and these works have now been completed.
In Termez district, it is planned to introduce water-saving irrigation technologies on an area of 4,115 hectares. Currently, construction and installation works are underway. Scientific staff are conducting monitoring activities and providing scientific and technical conclusions.
