10.06.2026
On June 9, 2026, the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University hosted one of the country’s significant scientific events in the fields of agriculture and water management-the 25th Traditional Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists, Master’s Students, and Talented Students on the theme “Modern Problems of Agriculture and Water Management.”
This prestigious scientific forum has been organized continuously for a quarter of a century, serving as an important platform for developing innovative solutions to the challenges facing the agriculture and water management sectors. Over the past 25 years, the conference has played a unique role in connecting young researchers, academics, and industry professionals through scientific dialogue and collaboration.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ilhom Jo‘rayev, First Deputy Director of the Agency for the Operation of Water Management Facilities, along with university leadership, faculty members, young researchers, and talented students.
The event also featured Usmon Rakhimjanov, Chief Manager of the Startup Flow Development Department at IT Park Uzbekistan, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the country's startup support ecosystem and ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
In addition, distinguished international and local scholars shared insights from their academic and professional experiences, including:
Professor Xiaohui Pan and researcher Li Zhongxu from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography;
Hofiz Ibrohimov, Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Hydraulic Structures and Engineering Constructions and recipient of the “Laureato Eccellente” (Excellent Graduate) distinction from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
Furthermore, TIIAME NRU student Behzod Ergashev and master’s students Nodira Baxriddinova and Xumora Jalilova presented the latest achievements and developments from their ongoing scientific research activities.
As part of the conference, an exhibition of scientific and innovative projects developed within student research clubs operating under the university’s departments was also organized, showcasing a wide range of creative and practical solutions.
Interest in the conference exceeded expectations this year. More than 250 scientific papers and abstracts were submitted by young researchers and talented students. The conference conducted its work through 10 specialized thematic sections, each addressing some of the most pressing issues facing agriculture and water management.
To further enhance the academic impact of the conference and strengthen integration with the international scientific community, plans have been made to include the conference proceedings in Google Scholar and other reputable international indexing databases.
The innovative scientific and practical recommendations and research papers presented at the conference are expected to serve as an important foundation for addressing current environmental and technological challenges in Uzbekistan’s agriculture and water management sectors. Through the active participation of young scholars and the exchange of advanced knowledge, the conference continues to contribute to scientific progress and sustainable development in these strategically important fields.
