IPhO 2026: Historic Record has been achieved in Colombia

Uzbekistan’s national team delivered an outstanding performance at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2026), achieving a historic milestone by winning two silver medals and two bronze medals for the first time in the country's participation history.
The prestigious competition was held in Colombia from 4 to 12 July, 2026, bringing together the world's most talented young physicists. Representing Uzbekistan, the students achieved the following results:
Asilbek Jumanazarov – Specialized School for Exact Sciences under the "TIIAME" National Research University – Silver Medal;
Mukhammad Abdumalikov – Mirzo Ulugbek Specialized School – Silver Medal;
Elbek Uroqov – Specialized School for Exact Sciences under the "TIIAME" National Research University – Bronze Medal;
Khasan Kamolov – Specialized School No. 1, Kokand – Bronze Medal;
Javokhir Aknazarov – Mirzo Ulugbek Specialized School – Honorable Mention.
By securing the country's first-ever silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad, the Uzbek national team set a new record in its history of participation in the competition.
These achievements reflect the steady progress of Uzbekistan’s young scientists on the international stage. The next goal is clear—to bring home the country's first gold medal at a future International Physics Olympiad.
